The turbulent economic
landscape of 2008-2009
When the global recession cast its shadow across
the world, India was no exception. The country's decision to open its economy to foreign investors
led many professionals to return from the Middle East, seeking opportunities within India’s growing
market. However, the economic downturn hit hard, resulting in widespread layoffs and uncertainty,
even within the burgeoning multinational corporations.
Among those affected were employees of a newly formed MNC in Mumbai, who were facing job losses. However, our visionaries saw the recession as an opportunity and united skilled workers to turn adversity into triumph. In 2009, they founded a company with the mission to revolutionize the luxury travel retail sector in India and beyond.
Our Early Days
Innovation in Installation and Maintenance
Before Frankojulia's inception, major retail fixtures in India were predominantly imported from Dubai, Turkey, and Hong Kong. These imports came with hefty price tags due to high import duties and substantial installation charges. Maintenance was a significant challenge, often requiring the expensive service of foreign technicians. Companies began to recognize the need for a more cost-effective, local solution, leading to the hiring and training of local vendors. Seeing this need, Frankojulia stepped in, offering unparalleled installation and maintenance services.
Growth and Expansion
From Visuals to Manufacturing
Our commitment to service excellence quickly earned us the trust of retailers, particularly in the travel retail sector. Starting with the installation of visual merchandising elements, we soon expanded into the manufacturing of promotional setups. By the end of 2010, we had established our first production house in Vasai, on the outskirts of Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
